About Excursion
Short overview and main highlights
A private tour to the highest points of Mountainous Adjara — from the seaside to alpine meadows in a single day. We follow the Adjaristskali gorge: the confluence of two rivers, Keda, St George's Church perched on a rock at Zvare and the medieval church of Skhalta, the largest in Mountainous Adjara.
After Khulo the road climbs to the Goderdzi Pass, above 2,000 metres. At Green Lake, 2,058 metres up, we stop for two hours with a picnic — shashlik, cheese, vegetables and drinks are included. Then we take in the panorama of the Khulo valley and the Goderdzi Alpine Botanical Garden.
The tour is especially beautiful in autumn, when the slopes turn yellow and red. It is cool in the mountains, so be sure to bring warm clothes.
