About Excursion
Short overview and main highlights
Rtveli, the grape harvest, is one of the biggest celebrations of the Georgian year, and on this tour you take part in it yourself. From Batumi we follow the Adjaristskali valley, stopping at the confluence of two rivers, the Waterfall of Love, Makhuntseti Waterfall and Queen Tamar's arched bridge.
Then we head into the Keda area to a family vineyard. Your hosts hand you shears and a basket: for an hour you pick grapes, then stomp them in the wooden press and learn to make churchkhela.
The day ends in the family wine cellar with a Georgian feast, local wine and songs. The tour runs only in the harvest season, in September and October.
