Short overview and main highlights

This tour brings together the highlights of Eastern Georgia: Old Tbilisi, the Kazbegi mountains, Kakheti wine country and the cathedrals of Mtskheta. You spend every night in Tbilisi, so there is no changing hotels or hauling luggage.

Day one is dedicated to Tbilisi: the narrow streets of the Old Town, Narikala Fortress, the sulphur baths, Metekhi, the Bridge of Peace and Holy Trinity Cathedral.

On day two you drive the Georgian Military Road to Kazbegi, stopping at the Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress and the Gudauri panorama. The day ends at Gergeti Trinity Church at the foot of Mount Kazbek.

Day three is in Kakheti: Bodbe Monastery, Sighnaghi, the "City of Love", a family wine cellar with a qvevri wine tasting, and Tsinandali — the Chavchavadze house-museum and gardens.

On day four you visit Mtskheta's UNESCO sites, Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. After lunch you explore the ancient rock-cut town of Uplistsikhe and Gori Fortress, returning to Tbilisi at around 17:30.

The tour is ideal for first-time visitors who want to see the best of Eastern Georgia in just a few days.

Narikala Castle
