Short overview and main highlights
A journey that shows you many sides of Georgia in a single day. We start at Martvili's 7th-century monastery with its old frescoes and views over the Egrisi Valley. Next comes the turquoise water and waterfalls of Martvili Canyon. You will relax in the warm sulphur springs of Nokalakevi and, if you like, visit a tea factory along the way. The day ends by the sea, on the black magnetic sand of Ureki and in the Musicians' Park.

Stop 1
Batumi is the capital of Adjara and the main resort town on the Black Sea coast. The city is famous for its seaside boulevard, modern architecture, historical streets of old Batumi and piazza square. On the boulevard there is a moving statue "Ali and Nino" and the alphabet tower, which look especially beautiful in the evening light. From Batumi, you can easily go to the Botanical Garden, Mtirala National Park and the waterfalls of the mountainous region of Adjara.

A short stop at a café on the way — coffee, a light breakfast and a stretch before the long drive.
Stop 3
Martvili (Chkondidi) Monastery is one of the most important spiritual centres of Samegrelo. Its main church, dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin, was built in the 7th century and stands on a high hill overlooking the Egrisi Valley and the Martvili area. In the Middle Ages it was the seat of the bishops of Chkondidi, among them Giorgi Chkondideli, tutor of King David the Builder. The church keeps old frescoes, and the monastery grounds include a bell tower and the Chikovani chapel. The monastery is active, so modest clothing is required. Stop 4
Martvili Canyon is one of the most impressive and popular natural monuments of Samegrelo region, namely Martvili municipality. It is located near the village of Gachedil, in the valley of the Abashi river. The length of the canyon reaches 2400 meters, and the height of its rocky walls varies from 20 to 40 meters. It features emerald/turquoise water, rich Colchian vegetation, moss covered rocky gorges and beautiful cascading waterfalls. Historically, this place was the bathing place of the princely family of Dadiani. Today, the canyon has modern tourist infrastructure - paved footpaths, viewing platforms and bridges. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride in the Abashi river valley, which makes the sightseeing even more impressive.
Stop 5
Lunch at a local café, ordered from the menu — try Megrelian cuisine: elarji, gebzhalia, Megrelian khachapuri. Lunch is not included in the price.
Stop 6
In Soviet times Western Georgia was one of the main tea-growing regions, and today the Georgian tea tradition is being revived. At the Martvili tea factory you will see how real Georgian tea is processed, dried and packed. Visitors are shown every stage of production — from picking the leaves to the finished tea — and offered a free tasting. You can also buy local tea to take home. Stop 7
Hot sulfur springs of Nokalakevi are one of the most unique and impressive natural sights of the Samegrelo region, namely Senaki municipality. It is located on the banks of the Tekhur River, near the historical Nokalakevi fortress. Hot, healing mineral water rising from the depths of the earth (the temperature of which reaches 60-80°C) flows down the rocky slope, forming white travertines and a steamy waterfall, after which it joins the cool flow of the Tekhuri River. At the place where hot and cold water merge, natural pools are formed, where visitors can take natural thermal baths at any time of the year. The place stands out for its pristine, wild atmosphere and beautiful river valley scenery. It is especially popular for travelers looking for health improvement, relaxation and unique impressions in nature.
Stop 8
Ureki is a Black Sea resort in Guria famous for its black magnetic sand. The sand contains magnetite, so the grains cling to a magnet held close to them. Magnetic sand has long been credited with healing properties and is used for cardiovascular, joint and nervous-system complaints. The shallow, gently deepening sea and the pine-lined shore make Ureki especially popular for family holidays. Stop 9
The Musicians' Park in Shekvetili lies in a seaside eucalyptus forest next to the Black Sea Arena. It features bronze statues of world-famous musicians, including Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Louis Armstrong and other legends. Many of the statues play their own music, so a walk through the park feels like a small musical journey. The sea is close by, and the shady paths stay pleasant even on hot days. A fantastic trip, one of the best I've ever taken to Europe. The itinerary was well-organized and packed. We visited city landmarks, as well as breathtaking natural scenery—mountains and rivers. The guide was fluent in Arabic, friendly, kind, and professional, providing thorough explanations of the areas we visited. The Mercedes, a modern and well-equipped six-seater, was our destination.
