About this Place
One location, many impressions
In Soviet times Western Georgia was one of the main tea-growing regions, and today the Georgian tea tradition is being revived. At the Martvili tea factory you will see how real Georgian tea is processed, dried and packed. Visitors are shown every stage of production — from picking the leaves to the finished tea — and offered a free tasting. You can also buy local tea to take home. A calm and interesting stop between Martvili Canyon and the hot springs. 📷 Pictured: tea plantations in Western Georgia. Photos: Giorgi Abdaladze / Wikimedia Commons (CC BY-SA 4.0)
