Short overview and main highlights

A private tour that pairs the nature of Mountainous Adjara with Georgian wine. The confluence of two rivers, the Waterfall of Love, the 30-metre Makhuntseti Waterfall and Queen Tamar's arched bridge — then at the KTW winery in Keda you learn how the wine is made and taste local wines.

After lunch we see the 22-metre Mirveti waterfall hidden in the "Georgian jungle" and the old arched bridge, and finish with the Gvara Fortress panorama. Zipline, rafting or horse riding can be added along the way.

Batumi
Batumi is the capital of Adjara and the main resort town on the Black Sea coast. The city is famous for its seaside boulevard, modern architecture, historical streets of old Batumi and piazza square. On the boulevard there is a moving statue "Ali and Nino" and the alphabet tower, which look especially beautiful in the evening light. From Batumi, you can easily go to the Botanical Garden, Mtirala National Park and the waterfalls of the mountainous region of Adjara.

It is located in Kedi Municipality, Makhuntseti village, about 30 kilometers from Batumi. The stream of water cascading from a height of about 50 meters descends into a rocky valley and forms a natural pool below. The powerful flow of the waterfall and the surrounding rocky environment give the place a special energy and a grand appearance, which attracts visitors at any time of the year. Its convenient location and proximity to the main highway make it an essential stop on Adjara excursion routes. The bridge dates back to the 11th-12th centuries and is distinguished by its scale and refined proportions. It is built of cut stones of the volcanic variety, which are bonded by boiling. The length of the bridge reaches about 20 meters, and the height is more than 6 meters above the river level. At the winery visitors learn how wine is made — from receiving the grapes to fermentation and ageing — and taste local wines, including Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. Wine is also on sale.

Mirveti waterfall
Mirveti waterfall is one of the most magical and outstanding natural sights of Adjara. It is located in Khelvachauri municipality, Mirveti village. The path leading to the waterfall passes through a green fairy-tale boxwood forest, where trees and stones are covered with velvety green moss, which gives the place a special atmosphere. The water cascading from a height of about 20 meters descends into a rocky gorge and forms a small, crystal clear pool. To reach the falls, visitors have to cross a historic pedestrian suspension bridge over the river, making the journey even more adventurous. It is located in the municipality of Khelvachauri, in the village of Mirveti, on the right bank of the Chorokhi River, where a small stream joins the main river. The bridge belongs to the medieval period and is built in the form of a hemispherical arch. It is built of hewn stone, where every detail is an example of craftsmanship preserved over centuries. Historically, the bridge performed an important transport function and connected the villages and trade routes of the valley. Nowadays, the bridge is perfectly integrated with the surrounding green nature. It is surrounded by abundant vegetation and moss-covered trees, which gives the place an amazing historical and fairy-tale look.

Gvara Fortress
Gvara Fortress is one of the outstanding historical monuments of Mountainous Adjara. The fortress stands on a high rocky ridge, with wide and impressive views of the mountains and valleys of Adjara. The ruins of the fortress date back to the Middle Ages, and its location served an important strategic function. From the height it was possible to control the surrounding valleys and roads, which is why this place was historically an important defensive point. Today, the ruins and fragments of stone walls remind us of the centuries-old history of this area.
