About this Place
One location, many impressions
The Adjaristskali Iron Bridge, popularly called the "Eiffel Bridge", crosses the Adjaristskali river in Khelvachauri Municipality. It was built in 1892 and was once part of the Batumi–Ardahan road. The bridge is an Eiffel-style riveted iron structure, a Schwedler-type truss, about 50 m long and 4.5 m wide. It is the only bridge of its kind in Adjara and is protected as a cultural heritage monument. It stands on the main road through the Adjaristskali valley, on the way to Makhuntseti and Mirveti, so it is an easy short stop for photos.
