Martville Canyon

One location, many impressions

Martvili Canyon is one of the most impressive and popular natural monuments of Samegrelo region, namely Martvili municipality. It is located near the village of Gachedil, in the valley of the Abashi river. The length of the canyon reaches 2400 meters, and the height of its rocky walls varies from 20 to 40 meters. It features emerald/turquoise water, rich Colchian vegetation, moss covered rocky gorges and beautiful cascading waterfalls. Historically, this place was the bathing place of the princely family of Dadiani. Today, the canyon has modern tourist infrastructure - paved footpaths, viewing platforms and bridges. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride in the Abashi river valley, which makes the sightseeing even more impressive.
