Gvari Castle is one of the outstanding historical monuments of Mtiani Adjara. The castle is located on a high rock ridge, from where there are wide and impressive views of the mountains and valleys of Adjara. The ruins of the castle date back to the Middle Ages, and its location served an important strategic function. From the height, it was possible to control the surrounding valleys and roads, which is why this place was historically an important defensive point. Today, the ruins of the castle and fragments of stone walls remind us of the centuries-old history of this area.
